Meat Cutter - Winn Meat
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to prepare meat with a knife to exact portions while maintaining yields.
• Cut meat (beef, pork, lamb, and veal) into steaks by hand to exact portions.
• Pre-trim meat for cutting machines, cut stew and tips as needed.
• As production demand varies, all Meat Cutters are expected to have hour and day flexibility.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
• Partner with supervisor and FSQA team on product quality issues.
• Maintain all work surfaces, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized.
• Always follow the USDA, HACCP, SSOP, food and employee safety rules and regulations.
• Wear required protective and food safety equipment at all times while in the production area.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Knowledge of beef, pork, lamb, and veal cuts.
• Experience in portion control desired.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Self-Starter.
• Basic math knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
