SEC Reporting Specialist
SEC Reporting Specialist
Work on preparation of financial reports for the SEC, company investors, the Board of Directors, senior management and others; including SEC Forms 10-K and 10-Q, earnings releases, board reports, and others. Assists with implementation, consultation and documentation of accounting and disclosure issues. Creates and edits financial narrative for inclusion in SEC and stock market filings, as well as internal documents.
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial disclosures and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Create and edit financial narratives to supplement data in financial reports.
- Enhance reporting processes to ensure timeliness and proper workflow and incorporation of all feedback received from other collaborators.
- Research and consult on complex reporting issues and respond to ad-hoc requests for reports and information.
- Identify opportunities to automate, increase efficiencies and improve controls.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Accounting
- 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance and Reporting, Financial Services preferred
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and IF statements, create pivot tables)
- Advanced knowledge of SEC reporting software (e.g. Workiva) and XBRL tagging programs
“Big 4” public accounting experience is a plus - Exceptional technical accounting skills, with in-depth knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting
