Overview
Position Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY Develops and implements stewardship activities to support and further Matheson's product and workplace safety and compliance programs. Serves as an essential member of the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) team by contributing to the improvement of product safety, hazard communication, customer sales support, incident investigation, internal and external auditing, procedure development, and the regulatory processes. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepares and reviews product regulatory labels to ensure compliance with requirements for hazard communication, transportation, drug safety, and product identification. - Evaluates and assesses new and existing products to ensure no unreasonable risk to company employees. - Supports customer inquiries for information to support the safe use and handling of company products. - Manages online vendor qualification programs, such as ISN and Avetta, as required by customers. - Works with sales team in preparation and submission of company safety performance data and program information for existing and potential customers. - Develops and implements security policies, protocols and procedures. - Regularly correspond via verbal communication and letters, emails, memos with regulatory agencies, law enforcement, visitors and management. - Oversees creation, submission, and retention of corporate security records and reports - Participates in inspections conducted by regulatory authorities and agencies. - Monitors and tracks observations and corrective actions resulting from internal and external safety and compliance audits. - Conducts audits of company facilities and recommends corrective actions to site management. - Develops and recommends programs to ensure that company sites are in compliance with internal policies and procedures, and federal, state and local laws and regulations. - Supports accident investigations and reporting process. - Assists in scheduled review of company safety policies and procedures. - Coordinates and participates in key negotiations with regulatory agencies. - Participates in regulatory development process through involvement with industry and trade associations. - Works on other duties and responsibilities as required.
