Job Description

Risk Consultant- Director of Property- 100% remote or hybrid

This role does require both international and domestic travel approximately 12 weeks per year; therefore, applicant must live close to any major US city airport.

What the day will look like:

  • Support efforts of Client in the maintenance of an effective Property Loss Control program.
    • Coordinate use of external loss control services
    • Conduct facility risk control surveys for both operational and construction risks
    • Review loss prevention reports and assist with the development of recommendations for action
    • Participate in consultancy assignments to support stakeholders at all stages of project lifecycle
    • Identify and evaluate potential operational hazard risks at all phases of a project lifecycle and propose technical solutions.
  • Develop understanding of business activities
    • Analyze related loss exposures and assess potential impact on organization
    • Consider risk management alternatives
    • Recommend appropriate risk management techniques/practices
  • Assist with collecting information vital to negotiate insurance placements
    • Prepare insurance applications and underwriting submissions
    • Capture exposure data, gather historical loss information
    • Support renewal strategy meetings with brokers and insurers
    • Prepare professional presentations which optimally represent Client's operations
    • Assess the impact of global insurance renewal options including all facets of coverage, limits, and related pricing
    • Respond to underwriters' questions to clarify materials submitted.
  • Assist in checking accuracy of insurance policies and process premium payments.
    • Compare policy terms and conditions to final Broker/Carrier proposals
    • Request policy corrections, as needed
    • File policies and associated documentation, as appropriate
    • Review accuracy of premium invoices and initiate payment process
  • Assist in the effective management of claims as needed.
  • Other duties as agreed upon with Client.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A strong technical background is required - preferably an engineering degree or equivalent. Alternative academic qualifications may be acceptable in conjunction with proven experience.
  • 3-5 Years' experience in Loss Control within the Energy Sector is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this position.
  • The person appointed will be a team player who can also work independently.
  • The ability to be incisive in analyzing technical problems and delivering cost effective solutions is a key skill requirement.
  • Knowledge of Fire Protection - Fire Sprinkler system and member for NFPA a plus.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $125,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
