What You Need to Know

The Policy and Regulatory Specialist is responsible for researching and analyzing state, federal, and accreditation standards that affect home health, hospice, home care, and personal care lines of business, Including creating, revising, and supporting policy, procedure, and protocol functions. The Policy and Regulatory Specialist provides comprehensive updates on clinical and administrative policies to the organization's Policy Review Committee for feedback and approval and assists in educating employees on corporate compliance standards. The Policy and Regulatory Specialist will also have the following duties, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the company's administrative policies, clinical procedures, and protocols related to all business lines.
  • Responsible for policy life cycle management, including developing, editing, and publishing administrative and clinical operating policies and procedures.
  • Support state and accreditation surveys upon request by coordinating with Quality and Operations on policy and related issues.
  • Promote compliance with all applicable laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels while educating employees about AccentCare's commitment to excellence, policy requirements, and other compliance program elements.
  • Collaborate with regional leaders in service delivery and problem-solving to maximize solutions.


Qualifications

If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you!

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health care with demonstrated competence in home health and/or hospice processes, quality improvement, and clinical education/training.
  • Proven proficiency and knowledge of regulations governing the practice of home health and/or hospice.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize materials related to regulations and applicability in the home care arena.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with co-workers and other internal departments.
  • Word processing and related computer skills required.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Must utilize sound judgement, reliable rationale, and common sense.

Required Certifications and Licensures:
  • Current RN License
