POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Business Partner in our Fort Worth facility is a critical point of contact for front line staff and leaders at a manufacturing site of approximately 120 production staff. This role is accountable for providing value in the areas of sourcing, talent acquisition, new teammate onboarding, compensation, employee relations, reporting, employee and community engagement, and project participation. HR Business Partners at LDI help leaders manage their teams, assists them in solving both short- and long-range talent challenges, and assist in building a culture of excellence with the HR function.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support for front-line staff up through Plant Manager. Leverage established processes, tools, and procedures to address inquiries in a timely and complete manner. Partner with HRBPs and Shared Services for issue resolution, as needed. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities, shares feedback, and develops solutions for trends.
  • Oversee site talent sourcing and acquisition process. Leverage best practices, systems, tools, and processes to strategically source and select talent for location. Guide leader decision making in selection practices and drive continuous improvement in talent acquisition activities. Helps to build a stable and high-skilled workforce through ongoing focus on retention, training, and recruitment.
  • Provide performance management guidance to supervisory team (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Where gaps exist, leverage data to drive continuous improvement in leadership team capabilities.
  • Own site orientation and onboarding. In partnership with Business Unit team, Shared Services, and operations leadership, ensures new teammates are onboarded successfully and retained. Drive continuous improvement in the new teammate onboarding experience.
  • At guidance of functional HR leader, Shared Services, and established procedures, support execution of ad hoc and cyclical people processes in the areas of compensation, performance management, discipline, talent planning, talent development, benefits, and talent acquisition. Seek methods to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Conduct thorough, objective, and timely investigations. Thought partner with functional HR and operations leaders to resolve employee relations issues. Shares trends, themes, and data to support sustained solution development and execution.
  • Participate in talent projects; deliver assigned workstream responsibilities in a timely and aligned fashion. Embrace role as a change leader; execute change management responsibilities to secure maximum understanding and success. May be accountable for leading project workstreams across plants for growth and development.
  • Counsel with leaders regarding compensation in preparation of salary recommendations, internal transfers, market adjustments, and promotional recommendations. May deliver additional value by partnering with Shared Services and Packaging HR team to drive improvements to process and tools.
  • Supports biweekly timecard and payroll preparation and weekly site attendance management processes. Partners with Shared Services and third-party administrator to execute leave of absence and disability payment processes.
  • Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives and programs to facilitate a safe and healthy culture. Executes LDI workers' compensation responsibilities in partnership with functional HR and Risk Management leadership.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelors' degree in Human Resources or similar discipline required and 3+ years HR Business Partner / HR Generalist experience OR and equivalent combination of education and experience
  • HR acumen: developed knowledge of HR processes and SME expertise on multiple HR disciplines
  • Ability to build relationships and trust with strong skills in coaching and mentoring
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience, with the ability to see hidden problems and look beyond the obvious for answers, uses data to make decisions
  • Experience with conflict management and influence - can bring others together and align forward
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills with the ability and passion to engage with others authentically, establish trust, build long-lasting relationships - influence at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; multi-tasking and prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to drive progress on high-level goals and meet deadlines; managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Masters' degree in Human Resources and / or Industrial / Labor Relations
  • Previous manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with intermediate Microsoft Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, IF statements, etc.)
