Job Description

The Infrastructure Project Manager will be a diverse and skilled technologist who understands the underpinning and inter-working elements across various high-capacity and high-performing infrastructure platforms within a service organization (i.e., Data Center/Co-lo, SaaS, or Managed Infrastructure Services).?You will collaborate with internal and external partners on the technical build-out of our data centers specific to networking, cloud, connectivity, transport, etc. In addition, this role will support operational upgrades and engineering tasks to enable streamlined deployments, meticulous planning and be the driving influence in the delivery of our managed services infrastructure to support an excellent service experience for our customers.


The Infrastructure Project Manager will report to MS-Service Delivery. The Technical Operation teams in Managed Services are involved with data center acquisitions and construction, including modernization and transformation activities such as architecture and design, installation, configuration, provisioning, and support for cloud, edge computing, networking, and transport services. Our goal is to ensure our customers have the best experience possible.


Responsibilities

  • Lead managed services infrastructure deployments across all technical operations products, regions, and markets as assigned along with operational projects where project management expertise is impactful to our teams' success.
  • Collaborate across technical operations infrastructure teams to align on goals and develop a unified plan for delivering infrastructure services on time and within budget for customer consumption.
  • Execute business initiatives and manage internal teams' time and expertise to deliver effective and timely solutions.
  • Share information broadly, oversee tactical and strategic efforts,?provide regular updates on projects, align teams on goals and objectives, set clear expectations, inform status, and proactively convey risks.
  • Act as a technical liaison on each Technical Operations project between the technical teams, business stakeholders, partners, and customers.
  • Bridge the gap between our customer's needs and the resources and information required for successful infrastructure delivery, productization rollout, and increased operational excellence.
  • Communicate complex concepts, issues, and proposals effectively and ensure broad knowledge of all technical projects to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build productive relationships across project teams & org-level leaders, influence stakeholders, cross-functional/partner teams to gain buy-in and resources.


Qualifications

  • CAPM or PMP certification is preferred; however, your depth of project management experience will be considered in lieu of accreditation.
  • Data Center/Co-lo, SaaS, extensive and complex infrastructure, or Managed Infrastructure Services project management or technical background is highly desirable.
  • Previous hands-on experience implementing cloud, on-prem solutions, and/or networking infrastructure platforms for service provisioning and consumption is ideal due to the complex nature of the industry.
  • Experience with Data Center cloud and networking physical builds to include managing space, power and connectivity requirements.
  • Excellent at developing project plans using standard project management tools, managing engineering-based efforts, prioritizing deliverables and resources, and proactively managing risk.
  • Significant experience coordinating projects, determining resource requirements, carrying out logistics, and following through with deliveries and deadlines.
  • Proficient in tracking data, managing budgets, creating schedules, and carrying out progress checks to track performance and accountability.
  • Experience partnering with engineers, business stakeholders, and technical leaders on task and timeline management to deliver infrastructure projects and services.
  • Sharp assessment skills with an ability to evaluate wants vs. needs and negotiate prioritization accordingly.
  • Strong relationship management skills across internal partners and external vendors, colleagues, and technical teams.
