The Client Service Leader role is hybrid with the flexibility to work from home and our office in Lincolnshire, IL.

The target salary range for this position in Lincolnshire, IL is $88,500 to $118,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant's geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] [production incentives] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

What the day will look like

As a Project Manager, you will provide defined benefit administrative calculation and consulting services directly to clients. You will make an impact in others' lives by working with our client's to help them understand their pension plans and to meet their retirement goals. The candidate selected for this role will be a leader on the team that provides defined benefit administrative services to over 300 clients using proprietary software. Day-to-day management of a specific client or clients, assisting with implementations, leading special projects, delegating work among colleagues within a project, and acting as a mentor and role model are key responsibilities.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Client Service Management: Advise client on special projects such as nonstandard benefit calculations, benefit statements, changes to requirements, special programs or other administrative requests
  • Handle benefit plan administration and management of special projects associated with defined benefit plans for various clients
  • Knowledgeable of client contract components with the ability to recognize out-of-scope work
  • Ensure that measures established jointly by Aon/client are met for items such as: Calculation turnaround, Phone call returns, Benefit payment entry, Assist in collection of data for client billings
  • Responsible for quality control of the client's pension calculation system
  • Maintain current knowledge of client specific plan provisions
  • Broaden knowledge of defined benefit administration rules
  • Maintain client databases and benefit calculation log
  • Assist in crafting project timelines and ensure that deadlines are met
  • Analyze plan provisions as well as review and perform benefit calculations
  • Respond to member/participant calls and facilitates requests
  • Coordinate monthly pension payments with trustee
  • Advise employees on pension plan provisions and payment elections
Colleague Coaching
  • Act as a role model for other colleagues by exhibiting the values of the firm, displaying benefit of the doubt, integrity, and initiative
  • Coaching colleagues regarding plan specific issues and technical competencies; this includes all colleagues working on clients, mentoring new colleagues, and more formal team training
  • Act as a role model for soliciting and providing positive and constructive feedback
  • Assist in ensuring that work is evenly distributed among the team
  • Pension Implementation
  • Assist with the set-up and testing of the of proprietary software for new clients according to the plan provisions and administrative requirements
  • Assist with the development of plan administrator documents
  • Customize employee communication material
Skills and experience that will lead to success:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of proven experience
  • A demonstrated ability with 8+ years' experience working with pension, defined benefit plans/administration
  • Proven project management, client consulting, and team leadership skills
  • Review of legal documentation/understand and communicate effectively any new rules/regulations to clients
  • Consulting background is highly preferred
  • Pension formula knowledge required
