A Sr. Corporate Accountant for Spire Hospitality is based in Irving, TX. We are a hospitality management company with close t0 30 hotel properties across the country in 17 states. We work in the Corp. office Mon-Thrs. and work remote on Fridays. Come join this great team.

Job responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of the GL, preparation of journal entries and accruals
  • Ensure timeliness of the month-end close process and completeness and accuracy of accounting records
  • Preparation of fee calculations (management fees, distribution amounts, etc.) in accordance with the applicable agreements
  • Monthly, quarterly, and year end reporting & financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations, promptly addressing any discrepancies by collaborating with Finance team members and communicating unresolved items to the supervisor
  • Prepare balance sheet recs with supporting documentation
  • Identify and propose process improvements
  • Monitor internal control procedures
  • Cash management including preparation of cash forecasts and managing vendor payables
  • Maintain expense reports, & company credit cards
  • Maintain lender reporting including updating the debt covenant testing schedules
  • Develop and execute complex firm-wide allocations for month-end processes
  • Prepare PBC items for the year-end audits conducted by independent accounting firm.
  • Train and develop staff accountants
  • Perform additional duties as and when assigned

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Property Management and multi-entity experience a plus
  • Solid familiarity with GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Must be experienced in use of accounting enterprise software. M3 experience a plus
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
