What You'll Do
  • Provides guidance and direction to staff including hiring, disciplinary action, staff development, goal formulation and performance review
  • Meets or exceeds monthly contract shipping goals and meet department KPI's
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations, minimizing the company's exposure to adverse outcomes of complaints, litigation, audits and inspections
  • Supervises, trains and cross-trains all employees so that they can safely perform their duties
  • Monitor material quality, productivity of shredder
  • Maintain a thorough and working knowledge/understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems/components and how they operate
  • Keep equipment operating by following service instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance
  • Plan schedule and assist in all Maintenance and Repairs at the Shredder
  • Develop and manage operational and maintenance schedule
  • Recognize and be prepared to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
  • Act as a stand in Shredder Operational Positions when needed
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

  • Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A combination of formal education and/or directly related work experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Preferred past successful experience in operations in metal recycling facility or other related industry
