JOB SUMMARY

The laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of medical laboratory tests and analysis to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Works independently in performing standard laboratory tests and microscopic examinations, and transfusion service testing.

Reports To: Laboratory Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

• Three years of previous Lab Experience in a hospital environment
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Flexibility in work arrangements, you may be asked to perform the same task for an extended period of time or to perform different tasks on the same day.
• Ability to work with other people at the laboratory bench.
• Familiarity with Microsoft office software, computer typing skills, and Meditech LIS preferred.
• Ability to work unsupervised during call back times or other hours as assigned.
