Job Description

Overview:

HKS Dallas is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team.

Provides support for all networking, routing, switching, and firewall products within the HKS environment and produces & maintains technical documentation of the overall infrastructure ecosystem. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of advanced networking maintenance and hygiene activities to complete assignments with integrity, creativity and strong analytical skills in collaboration with team. Anticipates job expectations and contributes to sustainable project solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and provides advanced Cisco network, switching, routing, and firewall support
  • Architects & designs network LAN / WAN
  • Manages and applies firmware and software patches to all network infrastructure hardware as needed
  • Coordinates and provides Tier 3 support for desktop, server and network access issues
  • Ensures reliable backup and recovery from circuit and hardware outages
  • Coordinates, produces and updates technical documentation

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of Aruba/SilverPeak SDWAN
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Cisco/SDWAN platform/Windows Platforms
  • Cisco or Windows Certified in Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Security +
  • Strong experience configuring and maintaining Cisco Nexus 5K and 9K switches utilizing VPCs
  • Competency in deploying and maintaining Cisco Meraki APs and switches
  • Knowledgeable in IPSec VPN tunnels
  • Experience in Cisco ASA, FirePower, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience in OSPF and BGP routing protocols
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco network device (managed switches, routers and firewalls) configuration and management supporting both LAN and WAN architectures
  • Working knowledge of Solarwinds
  • Proven track record of unprompted consistent improvement
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality, accurate results
  • Ability to hold sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to proactively problem solve and apply innovative solutions
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritize work
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
  • Travel may be required
