Summary:

The Rapid Response Registered Nurse has the responsibility and accountability for rounding and responding to calls on all non- Critical Care/ Emergency units. The RRT nurse will assess, evaluate, and initiate approved interventions as appropriate to patients at risk for/or exhibiting a change in condition. The RRT RN utilizes critical care nursing and thinking skills in a manner that supports quality patient care and optimum outcomes. The RRT RN acts as a role model by mentoring and educating the nursing staff while delivering bedside care in a supportive relationship that facilitates the appropriate and timely treatment of patients. The RRT RN uses effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, nursing staff and physicians. The RRT meets or exceeds the competencies outlined in the ICU RN job description. Per the Departments Scope of Practice, this position requires providing services to patients, of all ages in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The associate shall support the CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini's strategic plan and the goals and direction of their Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent
  • BSN preferred
  • CCRN preferred
  • Current Louisiana RN License
  • Current BLS Card
  • Current ACLS
