OPERATIONS PLANNING ANALYST

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE OPERATIONS PLANNING ANALYST

  • Tracking raw material at the various stages of the process.
  • Work with the various manufacturing groups to understand breakdowns, personnel issues, constraints, or other issues that can impact throughput and delivery.
  • Adjust scheduling plan and/or provide visibility to upper management when these events can affect customer deliveries.
  • Quoting deliveries for products based upon available production capacities and inventory with the goal of on time delivery to customer.
  • Researching, facilitating discussions, recommending, and responding to questions from customers (via Sales) regarding capacity and delivery.
  • Lead weekly production meeting.
  • Regularly reviewing load and schedules looking for conflicts or abnormalities and providing possible solutions when necessary.
  • Creating material work orders and planning intermediate material for supply. * Regularly participate in various MRP focus/improvement projects.
  • Regularly reviewing and dispositioning fallout and slow-moving inventory.
  • Hot Roll Planning for intermediate material requirements.
  • Work with Technical Development, Manufacturing and Sales team members on developmental process improvements, new product development and capacity increases.
  • Part number, router and work order creation and maintenance.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE OPERATIONS PLANNING ANALYST

  • High school diploma required, four-year degree with a concentration in Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Planning or Logistics, preferred. APICS certification desired.
  • 1+ years' experience in one of the following disciplines: Order Scheduling, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics, or Manufacturing Management with on-the-job interaction in a constraint-based flow management environment.
  • Financial Management - Aware of costs and assists in control costs related to own work
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques and data collection resources. Solves a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.
  • Knowledge of Axiom MRP system.
  • Knowledge of various software applications such as Lotus Notes, Word, and excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
